About The Zen Femme - Manifesto

Manifesto

When I wake up in the morning, the very first thing I do is breathe and feel.

My heart glows when I'm at home, on the Pacific Ocean, and when I see my daughter in a fit of laughter.

And my heart dims when life starts to become too serious.

I’m a sensitive soul.

My clients are my reminder that we’re all so different, unique and beautiful.

More than anything else, I care about helping them to feel safe being themselves, to experience the lusciousness and beauty of who they are—and of life—and to be well-resourced as a result.

In my world, living in a beautiful environment is an absolute necessity.

And dessert...well, that's always a fabulous idea.

I must say: living in a big city is totally overrated and suburbia is a definite no for me.

Now that I’m older, I prefer to be in mountainy, foresty, oceanside towns with lots of soul.

Fantasizing about curling up with a cuppa, while you watch the sunset over the ocean from your cozy AirBnB, is totally reasonable.

And striving for a life that allows you to fly to faraway places just to be in the loving energy of friends is an absolute necessity.

But, at the end of the day, living with compassion in your heart, truly loving yourself, and being in integrity with yourself and the people who matter to you is all that really matters.

When I die, I want to be remembered as a person who lived that way.

And, most importantly, someone who inspired others to do so, too.

Hi, I'm Korynn.

Mother, force of nature, lover, and

Founder here at The Zen Femme® and A Beautiful Human Design™

About me:

As a mother, I write and teach from home, as well as online and all over the world.

My not-so-guilty pleasures are always having beautiful flowers + tropical plants around, delicious essential oils, Hawaii-sourced cacao, baking with pretty much anything chocolate or pumpkin, international travel, long visits with family + friends, any body of water, and hiking in the mountains.

I’m an introverted writer, mystic and perpetual student of life. But, for now, I’m done with seeking for more. After a long run in a PhD program, juggling parenthood, divorce, the death of my best friend, and a pandemic, I’m taking some time to slow down and finally enjoy the fruits of life again.

My journey kind’ve all started back in 2006, when I decided to start a blog about untraditional motherhood—called Mamma Mia, Sophia. Then, I started another blog about living a nomadic life, called Nomad Girl. And then, I started this website, so I could share the healing gifts and lessons that I learned through first hand experience with energy medicine, connection with nature and my Native American roots, plant medicine, vipassana meditation, yoga, archetypal psychology, and many other healing modalities. This was all so fun. Sharing my adventures brought me so much joy and brought so much healing to others.

Then, life got pretty serious.

Life took its toll in the form of toxic relationship dynamics (familial, friendship, and romantic), and it led me to losing touch with myself, my body, nature, and Source. The results manifested in so many different ways: perfectionism, procrastination, depression, PMS, financial struggle, incredibly low self-worth, anxiety, and creativity blocks. And, worst of all, I’d completely stopped having fun in life. I was living in a trauma response that caused me to struggle to see the beauty that I had once seen in life, no matter where I was.

But then, my life-long best friend passed away from a rare form of brain cancer. This was the pivotal moment that caused me to question what on earth I was doing here. Everything that I’d been entertaining before seemed to be so completely unimportant. It was time to stop doing those things. It was time to grieve and to only do things that were healing and fulfilling to my spirit. My friend’s death was the heavy rock that fell and finally broke the dam. All of the emotions that I’d been trying to suppress (or just cope with), came pouring out. And then, so did the creativity, inspiration, zest for life, and “I don’t give a damn”-ness that I’d been holding in for years. It all finally came pouring out of me, onto the page, and into my life.

Nothing can stop it now (and I don’t want it to).

The Fun Stuff:

  • I was born on the Summer Solstice, on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer, and I’m an Aquarius Moon + Leo Rising. My Chiron + Midheaven are in Taurus. I also have 8 planets in Libra in my Human Design chart.

  • I’m a 2/4 Splenic Projector in traditional Human Design and my incarnation cross is the RAX of the Vessel of Love. My dominant circuitry is Sensing. In the Gene Keys, my Life’s Work is Magnetism (Compassion), Culture is Integrity, and my Purpose and Pearl are Ecstasy.

  • The (most common) archetypes that I identify with are: the Divine Feminine (Venus), the Dakini, the Creative, the Sage, the Explorer, and the Mother. I sometimes identify with the Wounded Healer (Chiron). All of the archetypes are within us in some way, but these are the ones that I see in myself the most. I explore hundreds of other Feminine archetypes in my work.

  • In Ayurveda, my True Nature is pitta-kapha, but my main imbalances tend to be vata + pitta. This changes from time to time—we are always changing :)

  • I’m an INFP - Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling + Perceptive. They say that INFPs have a talent for self-expression + reveal their beauty and their secrets through poetic metaphors. Other INFPs: Princess Diana, Helen Keller, Johnny Depp, William Shakespeare, and J.R.R. Tolkien.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING THIS FAR DOWN. I HOPE I’LL GET THE CHANCE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT YOU, TOO.

If you’d like to read about how we can work together…
